Seeking roommate for Brookland DC group house - $1160/month
Some info about the space:
About the house: A large, recently renovated historic duplex in downtown Brookland, three blocks from the metro and a 10 minute walk to spots such as Masala Story, Primrose Wine Bar, Yes! Organic Market, and Brookland's Finest. The house was redone two years ago and includes lovingly restored original hardwood floors, light-filled bay windows, central AC, shared laundry, front and back porches, and a big backyard with lots of garden space, a patio, and a firepit. We also have a guest bedroom/office, which is nice when hosting friends or family!
Details about the room: Available space is a basement in-law suite, which includes a large bedroom with bathroom (360 sq ft), spacious closet, kitchenette with shared laundry, and separate entrance. It's a great private retreat (and a lot of space) while also enjoying the rest of the house + benefits of group house living. The basement in-law suite was renovated in summer 2021, with new laminate flooring, drywall, and paint.
Rent is $1,260/month, which includes 2x/month house cleaning service; utilities are paid separately (~$100-140/month). Note that the kitchenette is in the same room as the shared laundry.
There is also an option to rent just the bedroom + private bathroom without kitchenette for $1,160/month. The lease would be for a year and then goes month-to-month.
Who are we? Group of 3 Christian young professional women ranging from mid-20s to mid-30s. (You would be housemate #4). We have each been residents of DC for 3+ years (though we haven't always lived together) and we strive to live in community that seeks the flourishing of our neighborhood, values hospitality, and generally encourages and cares for one another.
