House of Young Professional Women in Shaw/U Street Area Seeking One Roommate February 1, 2022
The home
This is a fantastic group house that has been passed down among Christian women for over 10 years, full of charm and history. Downstairs: renovated kitchen, dining room, living room, 1/2 bathroom and large foyer, with exposed brick walls, pocket doors, and original wood. Upstairs: three bedrooms, two baths. Basement floor: bedroom, bathroom, storage, and washer/dryer. Third floor: attic bedroom. Back deck and enclosed patio with grill and twinkle lights.
We want our house to be a community where we share not only space but also conversations, meals, and life together. We are looking for a new roommate who is hospitable, considerate, and fun. We value cleanliness and commit to keeping shared spaces tidy.
Room details
The room is available on Feb 1, 2022 and is $1050/month, plus $100-$150/month for utilities. The room is the basement room which features a north facing window and a south facing window in the bathroom, exposed brick, and built in shelving. The room is extremely spacious, has its own bathroom, and has its own entrance to the house.
As a house we share in-house laundry, access to a quaint back patio and a shared kitchen on the main level.
The location
Westminster Street, a tiny, one-block street near 10th and T NW. We are a 3-minute walk to both the U Street and Shaw Metro stops (on the green line). We are an 8-minute walk to the 14th Street corridor, 5 minutes to the heart of U Street, and 5 minutes to the budding Shaw 7th Street corridor. Two local coffee shops less than two blocks away, and Trader Joes, Giant, and Whole Foods in walking distance.
