Project Coordinator for the Office of the President

The CCCU seeks a professional who has a passion for Christian higher education and experience in being a detail-oriented self-starter and Project Coordinator. Working closely with the president while reporting to the Executive Assistant to the President, this colleague will collaborate with the Executive Assistant to ensure the systems and processes that support the work of the President are maintained. There is a high hospitality function connected with this position, and a gracious spirit will be essential to working with internal and external constituents and colleagues. The ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and to manage a flexible work environment are a priority for this position. Because this area of the president’s office will connect with other areas of the CCCU such as communications, finance, experiential learning, IT, and government relations, being a team member capable of working and communicating effectively with a variety of personalities and work styles is necessary.

COVID-19 and Work Note: The CCCU DC Headquarters is open 5 days a week. Staff can work up to 2 days remotely with approval of their supervisor. Candidates must be able to work effectively in both an in-person and virtual environment.

CCCU employees are required to adhere and agree to follow certain guidelines and procedures while working in the office to ensure a safe and healthy environment. Vaccinations are not mandated at the CCCU but strongly encouraged. 

Core Responsibilities:

The primary function is to expand the capacity of the Office of the President.  Projects may include but are not limited to:

  • Be the point person for presidential communication including email, project requests, and in some cases requests for travel and speaking.
  • Engage in research for president’s speeches and presentations.
  • Support for volunteer participation by CCCU campus key leaders.
  • Enjoy working with the Board of Directors by assisting the Executive Assistant with Board meetings and CCCU event preparations as needed.
  • Work with financial data as necessary.
  • Have excellent organizational skills.
  • Be of service to other team members such as serving as back-up for the Executive Assistant for vacations and/or absences.
  • Create an environment of hospitality in the President’s office suite.
  • Other duties as assigned

Persons applying for the position should:

  • Be a self-starter
  • Have exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Be proficient in clerical skills such as filing, proofreading, typing, etc.
  • Be detail-oriented, highly organized, flexible, and willing to learn
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Have a strong understanding of a variety of computer programs such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Possess good judgment and ability to maintain high level of confidentiality especially related to working with the president
  • Be a team player, possessing a positive attitude and a good sense of humor
