Room Available in Brookland Group House

A room is available for rent in our recently-renovated (2013) 5-bedroom, 3.5-bath group house in Brookland. We are a group of Christians in our twenties and thirties who enjoy discussing current events, watching sports and sharing food and drinks while pretending we aren’t the mature professionals we are. We are looking for someone to join our fold--in existence since 2008--who values community living, is neat, and enjoys hosting the occasional cookout or holiday party (when not in the midst of a pandemic).

About the Room:

Basement Bedroom: The basement bedroom is approximately 9’ x 9’ with a 2’ x 4’ closet.  This bedroom shares a full bathroom with another basement bedroom. Rent for the basement bedroom is $560 per month including all utilities.  Discounts available for move-ins prior to 2021.

Note:  This room will come unfurnished

About the House:

Utilities include central HVAC, gas, water/sewer, electric, high-speed cable/internet, and some yard care.  We share some (ie, high-demand/utilization) groceries and house supplies, which average around $150 per person per month and hope to find someone who is OK with the same, but are amenable to alternatives.

Generally we aim to spend one regularly-scheduled evening per week together to share a meal and catch up with each other.  We also divide house chores on a semi-regular basis.

The house is almost exactly one mile from the nearest Metro station, with a bike share station and bus stops on our block that run to and from their corresponding stations at the Metro at regular intervals.

You can check out photos of the house and rooms here.
