CF Wanted for Trinidad Rowhouse ($680/month)

About the room: Flexible move-in availability - as early as late January. Lease ends Jan 31, 2021 with potential to renew (strong preference given to those able to sign through the end of the lease). Located on the main level, right off the kitchen. Bright with tons of natural light. Unique built-in shelving and a medium sized closet. Big enough to comfortably fit a queen size bed, a small armchair, small desk and chair, a bookshelf, and two small dressers. The bedroom has a large eastern-facing window with a private-ish bathroom. (private-ish meaning, it is the main level bathroom and if guests are over, they would use that one, but roommates would use the upstairs bathroom exclusively.)

Rent is $680, plus utilities (water, gas, electricity, & internet) – which usually run between $60-80 a month, per person. Security deposit of $667, plus a one-time application fee of $75 required for the property management company.

About the house: It’s a cute 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom on a fairly quiet street surrounded by friendly neighbors. The kitchen is fully renovated; complete with a huge sink, gas stove, and dishwasher. The partially-finished basement has tons of storage and full size washer and dryer. (We use the main room for a mix of pantry & hang out space) We have a great front porch that is perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee, or a book. We like to keep the common areas of the house tidy, but we’re realistic and understanding of small messes, as long as they get cleaned up in a timely manner, and we rotate the responsibility of basic household chores. We tend to batch cook and have our meals together to save time and money on groceries. If you would like to participate in that, we would be more than happy to accommodate a third person eating with us, but if you don’t want to, that is also just fine.

About transportation: There is ample unzoned street parking, but we also have a small “back yard” area that can be used as off-street parking. (as long as you close the gate behind you so Leslie doesn’t run off after anything that moves in the alley) The house is about a 20 minute walk from the NOMA/Galludet metro stop(and/or there is also a Capital Bikeshare station about a 3 minute walk from the house). Additionally, the H St Street Car is a short walk from the house, which will take you to Union Station. There are D4 and D8 bus stops about a 4 minute walk away, or you can catch the X1, X2, X3, X8, and X9 on H St – about a 6 minute walk from the house. Basically, you’re pretty covered on transportation options.

About us: Two human roommates and a bonus canine! Both humans are in our late 20s and have been friends since college but roommates for about 3 years. We both attended Cedarville University. Angela is an elementary teacher in DC and Stephanie is an assistant in Arlington’s circuit court. As such, we keep fairly early nights. We each like to have friends over for dinner or board games sometimes on weekends, but weeknights tend to be fairly lowkey. We both attend National Community Church and separate small groups on Tuesday nights. Leslie (Knope the Dog - yes, THAT Leslie Knope) is a 60lb. dog who thinks she weighs closer to 15lb. She loves all creatures great and small, but particularly the kind that walk upright, and is very enthusiastic in her displays of love. (You will not be expected to do anything for her care or keeping)

You can contact us (Stephanie and Angela) by email at trinidadroom@gmail.com
We’re excited to hear from you, if you think this might be a good fit for you!
