DC JazzFest hiring Marketing Coordinator 43-46K

DC JAZZ FESTIVAL JOB ANNOUNCE:  MARKETING COORDINATOR

The purpose of the DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) marketing coordinator is to plan, coordinate and successfully implement all communication, marketing strategies, and public relations for the DCJF throughout the year including a music festival, embassy series, education programs, and related presentations. The marketing coordinator will work closely with the marketing team to  coordinate successful marketing programs, promote awareness, and drive earned income for more than for our year-round performances, education programs, and embassy series initiatives. The coordinator will utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software platforms to analyze ticket sales data and increase ticket sales, coordinator dynamic ticket pricing strategies, identify and target key audience segments, and working closely with the events team to maintain comprehensive audience database, and support development with data-driven insights. The coordinator will consult with senior staff at DCJF on issues of organizational mission and policy; and supervise student workers and temporary personnel. We are particularly interested in candidates who have coordinated successful marketing strategies, have marketing brand management experience, and 3+ years working on successful marketing campaigns that increase earned income especially ticket sales, merchandise, and program service revenue. Proficiency with Constant Contact, Donor Perfect and Splash a plus.

 

A breakdown of responsibilities includes:

50%:  Coordinate the execution of marketing tactics to meet income goals. 

30%: Coordinate marketing activities,collaborating with artistic director, event coordinators, publicist, a marketing/communications firm, an experiential production team, and social media coordinators.

10%:  Coordinate integrated launch plans and all marketing campaign elements including revenue management.

10%   Edit all ads and collateral

Education/Experience

This position requires 3+ years of marketing experience, ideally with a blue-chip consumer focused company, nonprofit or arts presenting organization. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications or related field relevant to marketing preferred. Working knowledge of InDesign, Constant Contact, Donor Perfect, Splash, and Photoshop a plus.

Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Specific experience withconsumer research, data and analytics, marketing strategy, marketing plans and communications
  • Product/service and value proposition design
  • Goal-oriented self-starter and well organized.
  • Proven record executive, coordinating and reporting on integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing coordination.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and ability to work at all levels, confident and articulate.
  • Working experience on teams in a fast-paced environment

Founded in 2004, the DC Jazz Festival presents internationally renowned and emerging artists in celebration of jazz through dynamic programs that advance jazz and music education, unify diverse communities, enable connections between artists and audiences, and enhance economic growth in the District.  Signature programs include the annual DC JazzFest, held in June; the year-round Roberta Flack Education Program; and Charles Fishman Embassy Series held at Embassies in DC. The DC Jazz Festival is recognized as a leading arts organization in the Mid-Atlantic, having garnered praise far and wide.

Salary Range:  $43,000 – 46,000, commensurate with experience.
