Human Resources Assistant

The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) seeks a part-time, temporary Human Resources Assistant to bring administrative support to our Washington D.C. offices. This person will work closely with the Director of Human Resources, providing assistance with day-to-day operations.

The Council is a professional association of more than 180 campuses in 20 nations whose mission is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help our member institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth.  The Council coordinates professional development opportunities for administrators and faculty, manages U.S. based and international off-campus student programs, provides public advocacy for Christ-centered higher education and manages cooperative efforts among its member campuses (www.cccu.org).

Core Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the comprehensive hiring process, including job posting, interviewing, and onboarding new-employees
  • Drafting or editing any correspondence relating to employee relations
  • Maintaining employee records
  • Coordinating staff meetings and occasional employee functions and/or trainings
  • Researching current employee legislation, policies, and other pertinent information
  • Assisting Director with routine processes such as payroll

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Have a strong appreciation for the Christian mission and purpose of the CCCU and its BestSemester programs
  • Have exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Be flexible and willing to work on a variety of different types of projects
  • Possess a positive and helpful attitude
  • Be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Be available to work at least 20 hours/week
