We have one unfurnished private room available in a Columbia Heights/Mt. Pleasant Group House near 17th and Newton St. NW. Available March 1, 2019 (can work out if you need to move in earlier). Rent is $1,080/month; Security Deposit is $1,080. You will take over and finish the lease that ends June 30, 2019 with the potential to renew a one-year lease around that time with these awesome folks. Utilities run about $50-$70/month. ABOUT THE ROOM:
Large private room (11.5 ft x 11 ft) on second floor (of a three story townhouse) with windows and a closet. You will share one bathroom with two others.
THE HOUSE:
Marble and hardwood flooring; In-home washer/dryer; Gas Stove; Back porch with grill and awesome outdoor lights; Front porch / front yard; 5 bedrooms; two full baths; one “harry potter” bathroom aka half bathroom. Historical, diverse, quiet neighborhood near a bunch of public transit options. House was recently renovated and is furnished (by current housemates) with pretty much everything you could want

THE CREW:
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Mostly Christian, Inclusive, LGBTQ-friendly, and racially diverse. One gal and four men. We are open to all genders. We are intentional about the vision of our house and how to use the space, so come join us!
House bonding activities have included AYCE Korean BBQ, hiking Old Rag, setting escape room records, making big meals that barely fit on the dining room table, game nights, movie nights, handing out halloween candy, hosting low-key parties to bring all of our favorite people together. Also, there are 5-6 ways to make coffee in this house and you have to like ice cream.
You’ll be sharing the house with:
C: newish to the city, works in mental health, enjoys checking out restaurants/bars/coffee shops/museums, road trips are his jam
F : Mgmt and tech consultant during the day and night. He spends most of his extra time thinking about ways to not be a mgmt and tech consultant for the rest of his life. Other than that, enjoys playing and watching sports, listening to good music, travelling, eating out and making innovative cereal dishes. Coffee shop guy.
J : PhD student at UMD, plays volleyball, likes to cook, drink, watch netflix, and eat. Usually, busy with graduate-related responsibilities, but enjoys being social and having fun. ENFP; I think I’m a Type 2 or 3 on the Enneagram.
D : Makes people coffee and stares at a computer screen. Enjoys bicycling, hiking, and good conversations. Volunteers with Collective Action for Safe Spaces.
A: Loves DJ sets and EDM. Enjoys cooking spicy Chinese food so we will have family dinners. Social. Recently moved to DC and will be starting graduate school this fall.
