Marketing Manager

National Journal Leadership Council, the premium provider of insightful research and analysis for those operating in Washington’s policy and government arenas, seeks a forward-thinking, results-driven and creative marketer to join our Marketing team.

The Marketing Manager will play an integral role in leading and implementing outbound campaign initiatives to acquire new audiences and retain existing members. You will be part of a growing and high-energy team focused on serving and delivering value to government affairs organizations.

National Journal serves 1,000 of Washington’s top organizations through its research services, Membership and editorial platforms.

 Who are you?

You are a focused Marketing Manager with a creative spirit who has a strong interest in developing innovative marketing campaigns informed by data. You enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment and are always willing to roll up your sleeves to contribute to organizational needs. You are a strong marketing writer, an exceptional implementer and have experience identifying insights from data.

Professionally you have:
-Experience in direct response marketing including email marketing. Experience in digital, social media, search engine marketing and landing page optimization is desirable.
-Developed multi-channel, integrated marketing campaigns and tracked performance against key KPI’s.
-Exceptional project management skills, including experience creating and managing internal timelines.
-Strong writing skills.
-An ability to work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders, as well as interface with external partners (e.g. agencies, vendors.)
-Experience analyzing campaign analytics from marketing automation tools and CRM programs such as Marketo, Omniture or Salesforce.com.
-Familiarity with marketing to the public policy or government affairs audience is a plus.

 What will you do?
Marketing and Product Launch Strategy -
-Play a key role in developing marketing plans and deliverables to support the launch of strategic products.
-Manage high-impact lead generation and retention campaigns by collaborating with stakeholders to identify new opportunities and drive growth.
-Manage the day-to-day implementation of integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns across Email, Web/Digital, Search, Social and Print.
-Write and edit compelling copy for email, advertising, web promotions and sales tools.
-Provide support to the sales and retention teams through messaging, collateral and sales tool development.

Marketing Data Analytics -
-Analyze, benchmark, and report on launch metrics, marketing initiatives and product sales results.

Project Management -
-Develop timelines and manage the routing of jobs and tasks through the team, working closely with functional leads to ensure that all deliverables are on time and on budget and support brand attributes.
