CF looking for housing near Capitol Hill

I'm moving to DC in December (God willing) for a six month temporary stay. I'm looking for a place either on the Hill or in safe, surrounding neighborhoods. 

I'm 30 and work for the AICPA. I currently live in Durham, NC. If the move works out, I'll be looking to move to DC permanently. I'm a CPA, slightly type A and an extrovert. I love getting to know new areas of DC and other people. I'm a clean person but can have the occasional clutter. Coming with me from NC is the furriest, laid back dog you'll meet, Jon (short for Jon Bon Jovi). I also love college football.
